Celebrity Home for the LG Skins Game
The LG Skins Game is going to have a new home, moving from Trilogy at La Quinta, to the Celebrity Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort! The LG Skins Game will stay in the Coachella Valley through 2009 at the new Clive Clark designed course. It will mark the 25th anniversary of the LG Skins Game, and will take place November 24-25, 2007.

Although the course is remarkably beautiful, the professional golfers will need to focus in order to overcome the challenging course. Hole #4 is a reachable par-5 with an island green, and #6 is a par-3 that plays up to 240 yards. The course also features breath-taking views of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains. There are no homes or roads on the course, as it is designed to create a feeling of solitude.

November will be a beautiful time of year to host the event, so plan your own event at the Celebrity Course today! Gift Certificates can be used at over 75 courses in Las Vegas, San Diego, Palm Springs and Phoenix.

Celebrity citing at Indian Wells
Many people wondered why the Indian Wells Golf Resort decided to go forward with their ambitious renovation plan. It’s not like the course was in bad shape. Golf Digest had just ranked the course as one of the top “Best Places to Play 2004-2005″. You know the old saying: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Clive Clark didn’t just fix the West Course at Indian Wells, he created the Celebrity course, and set the bar high for John Fought who is designing the new course that will go in place of the East course.

Clark was given the West Course property plus 30 more acres, and created a new course that leaves only a few traces of the original. The course utilizes the mountain range views by a “north/south” layout. Clark also designed the coruse to have a feeling of solitude by making sure roads and homes to not intrude, and designing the holes to be somewhat sheltered from one another. If that weren’t enough, a noise abatement wall has been installed as well to drown out the traffic noise coming off of Highway 111.
The Celerity Course also features waterfalls, creeks, and ponds that come into play on holes 4, 5, 6, , and 13-18. These water features are designed to add beauty to the course as well as strategic appeal. The bunkers on the course also place a unique stamp, and have been placed in-play for tactical consideration as well as out-of-play for more visual appeal.
The Clive Clark Celebrity Course is set to open on 11/1/06, and The Golf Resort at Indian Wells will continue their renovation plan by closing the East Course and turning the reigns over to John Fought. The plans also include a new 53,000 square foot Douglas Fredrickson-designed clubhouse, which will follow in 11/07.
