During a tournament Walter Hagen’s approach shot lands inside a paper bag that has blown into a bunker. Hagen asks for a drop but is told he isn’t entitled to one since the ball is in a hazard. He must either play the ball as it lies, in the bag, or take a penalty stroke. Hagen is none to thrilled with either option but, as he draws on his cigarette, an idea comes to him. With the gallery and the official looking on, he discards the still smoldering butt onto the bag which instantly bursts into flames. The bag all but gone, he pitches out and makes par!
A pledge from the Head Golf Professional at CrossCreek
Come See for Yourself why Golfers are Calling CrossCreek the “Best Conditioned Course in the Temecula Valley”
We just received word from CrossCreek’s Head Golf Professional Tim Gardner, that he’ll credit you back your green fee plus $10 if you don’t think CrossCreek is in great shape.
Here is his pledge:
“I can’t begin to tell you how many golfers have stopped me in my tracks this month just to tell me what great condition the golf course is in, and you know what? They’re right!
But don’t take my word for it. Let me help you prove it to yourself when you play CrossCreek through October 31st, 2005. If you don’t agree that CrossCreek is in great condition, I’ll refund your green fee and give you $10 out of my wallet just for wasting your time!
