You will forget you are in the Las Vegas desert when you play golf at Las Vegas National Golf Club. This exquisite championship golf course is the former home of the PGA Tour's Las Vegas Invitational and is conveniently located only two miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Classic in design, this Las Vegas golf course combines rolling fairways, glistening lakes, and greens well protected by palm, pine, and olive trees.

Golf play started on October 1, 1961 as The Stardust Country Club. The golf course celebrated the opening by hosting the LPGA Tour, which returned in October 1962. In 1969, the Del Webb Corporation purchased the Stardust Country Club, and changed the name of the course to The Sahara-Nevada Country Club. The Sahara Invitational, a PGA Tour event, was hosted here from 1969 through 1976.

The Tournament of Champions was played here beginning in 1969. Arnold Palmer set the original course record, during the Tournament of Champions when he posted a score of 63. Two gentlemen, David Graham and Tom Kite, hold the current course record of 62. The Sahara Country Club changed ownership and was renamed to The Las Vegas Hilton Country Club. From 1994 to 1997 the golf course was one of three properties to host the Las Vegas Invitational. Winners include Davis Love III, Bruce Litzsky, Jim Furyk, and Tiger Woods. Tiger won his first PGA Tour event in Las Vegas and shot 70 at this golf course, his highest round for the week. After a four year partnership, the course was renamed The Las Vegas National Golf Club in 1998.
