Painted Desert Golf Club is a memorable golf journey, and the golf course was the first true desert golf experience to come to the Las Vegas area. Located 20-25 minutes from the Las Vegas strip, award-winning architect Jay Morrish designed this challenging Las Vegas desert target golf course. It is considered the best maintained public golf course in Nevada. Painted Desert's contrasts of lush green fairways, greens, and roughs, along with the desert areas create mere beauty not found in many places. Hedges and other native vegetation (cactus and mesquite) decorate the golf course as well. Several lakes come into play on drives and approach shots, and many bunkers dot the layout.

A desert style golf course, Painted Desert Golf Club features narrow fairways surrounded by natural desert terrain. This golf course is well maintained and demands precise golf shots. Sensible design and variety are the hallmarks of Painted Desert. It offers four par-5's of 500 yards or better from the back and middle tees. The four par-3's range 128-193 yards from the middle, and 150-233 yards from the back. Of the nine par-4 holes, eight measure under 400 yards from the middle tees, while the back tees measure from 313-467 yards.

Painted Desert Golf Club (par 72, 6,840 yards) opened in 1987 as Las Vegas' first true desert golf course. The fairways, which are fairly tight, offer forgiveness if you hit off target and virtually every hole is bordered by friendly desert. The player-friendly features of this Las Vegas golf course include elevated tee boxes that give sweeping views of the emerald fairways all the way to most of the greens.
