This high desert Phoenix golf course features enough variety of terrain to challenge the most experienced golfer. This is a typical Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed golf course and the first for him in the Phoenix area. The high desert surrounds the immaculate fairways, and the greens are fast, large, undulating, and elevated. There is a water hazard that comes into play on holes #9 and #10. "Golf Digest" rated Las Sendas as the 16th "Best in State" course for 1997-98. The 5,929-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 74.9 and a slope of 137. Premium tee times can be reserved eight to thirty days in advance.

"Many new courses in our Sonoran Desert are like an old-west gunfighter: interesting and notorious, but something you tend to avoid once you've had a primal experience with them. Las Sendas is not one of those. It is a nature walk through the desert, attracting you with beauty and challenging you with shot options. You can't wait to get back and play it again…Las Sendas is not a course contrived with artifice, decor, or railroad ties, nor is it a target course. It is a strategic course, so learn the preferred route from tee to green. It is a Wild West Course, and you'd better bring your six-gun, because you're going to have to shoot it here."
